FLOODLIGHT ATTRACTIONS.

The 1929 Soccer season will close tomorrow evening with a floodlight cup tie final, Thistle v. Manurewa, on Blandford Park, and,, as an added attraction. the first " electric hockey " match in the history of that code in New Zealand will be staged. The hockey fixture, St. Luke's v. Somerville, will bring two keen and capable elevens into the arena, and an exciting encounter is anticipated. As both teams will be at full strength, and will Include no fewer than nine Auckland representatives, a sterling contest is anticipated. St. Luke's and Somerville ended up the club championship on level terms. Out of six meetings each side won two games, while the remaining two were drawn. To-morrow night's match, although only a friendly one, should be sternly contested, each 'side being anxious to secure the odd win. The teams are as follows:— St. Luke's.—Goal, K. Highfield; fullbacks, H. Williams, N. Burnett; halfbacks, YV. Williams, S. Robertson, T. Clark; forwards, W. Wotherspoon, T. Giles, J. Giles, M. Bay, W. Grace. Emergencies: C. Harding, F. Clark, H. Brown, W. Burnett. Somerville. —Goalkeeper, N. Chiplin; full-backs, G. Smith, W. Gardner; halfbacks, E. Rogers, S. Hunter, G. Cole; forwards, H. Watts, A. Seccombe, E. Watts, £. Watts, G. Peace. Emergencies, W. Heard, C. Edwards, D. Maxwell. Referees: Messrs. Geo. Waddingham and Ralph Avery. The teams are- to assemble at the Grafton Road entrance !at 0.40 p.m. The bully-off will be at 7 p.m. Manurewa will have another chance of making history by taking a senior trophy to the B grade, and the clash with Thistle for the Thistle Cup should prove a stirring contest. Both teams will >tj at full strength. Thistle side will be chosen from: Gerrard, Carter, McCosh, Dormer, Kay, Hibbert, Hislop, Cummings (2), ChahncVs, Webb, Rowat, Hamilton. At the close of the game the trophies won during the season will be formally presented to the successful clubs. .
