TO PROTECT INVESTORS.
COMPANIES' ACT INADEQUATE
STOCK EXCHANGE RESOLUTION. The following resolution was passed by the delegates to the Stock Exchange Conference 'this morning: "That, this conference of delegates of the Stock Exchange Association views with alarm the inadequacy of the present Companies' Act in New Zealand, and urges the Government to take in hand as quickly as possible a revision of the statute, so that it may be brought into line with the new English Act. Further, that a subcommittee be set up to confer with the Associated Chambers of Commerce and the New Zealand Society of Accountants to secure action in the required direction."
