TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE.

FAIR BUSINESS DOING

RATES GENERALLY UNCHANGED.

A fair volume of business was recorded on the local Exchange after the "Star" went to press yesterday, with recent values generally maintained. Government stocks are not so keenly sought as was the case last week, but holders are not anxious to quit, and no parcels were offered this morning, although several lines of municipal bodies debentures were available. Bank shares show no change except in the case of Union, which have firmed up with buyers at £14 15/. The Noon Call. At the noon call banks continued to show a slight improvement, and small advances were shown in sales of both National of New Zealand and Unions. Pukemiros sold 2/ cheaper, in accordance with the weaker tendency reported last week. Interest Rates.
