FORTNIGHT'S WAGES SPENT,
> "This is a nasty, mean theft, the worst I have ever heard of," said Mr. If. K. Hunt, S.M., when he remanded Arnold Myocevich, a labourer, aged IS, until to-morrow morning for sentence on a charge of stealing £12 6/3 belonging to his father. Accused pleaded guilty to the charge. Chief Detective Hammond said accused had been living with his mother and father. "His father, who had been unemployed for some time past, recently secured a job at Titirangi," said Mr. Hammond, "and when he retired to bed on October 9 he placed his whole fortnight's wages in his trousers. The trousers were put under the pillow t>f iiis bed. About 2 o'clock in the morning, accused, who had got a mate with him, got in through the bedroom window and stole the money. He then went down town and started to spend it. When arrested all that was left of the £12 odd was 35/." Mr. Hunt instructed the probation officer to make a report about the accused.
