MAWSON EXPEDITION.
Finishing Touches Put To The Discovery. SAILING ON SATURDAY. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 10.30 a.m.) CAPETOWN, October 13. Carpenters were putting the finishing touches to the Discovery when Sir Douglas Mawson quietly boarded her, accompanied by the seven scientists ho complete the full complement of 40. Those approached showed themselves unwilling further to discuss the suggested Norwegian activities in the Antarctic beyond stating that while thev welcomed scientific co-operation, Australia, New Zealand and South Afiica were primarily interested in the areaS in which they'are carrying out research. The Discovery leaves at noon on Saturday.
