CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Wickets and outfield were in good condition for the opening of the cricket season on Saturday. High School Old Boys, playing Linwood, were all out for 167 (11. E. Hastie SG). Bowling for Linwood: R. J. Read took eight wickets for 55 runs. Linwood lost nine wickets for S2 runs, Merritt taking five of the wickets. Old Collegians, playing Riccarton, scored 125 (I. M. Hamilton 44). Bowling for Riccarton : C. E. Evans took three wickets for 25 runs, and C. T. Rix three for 37. Riccarton scored 93 for no wickets (A. Cox 50, P. Allen 38). Against East Christchurch, West Christcliurcli scored 230 for nine wickets (Jarrett 40, Jeft'coate 36, Condlift'e 54 not out). Sydenham, against St. Albans, made 291 (Capstick 71, Wailburton 54, Sprong 79 not out). ,
