TECHNICAL OLD BOYS.

AUCKLAND BEATS HAMILTON.

In a very poor exhibition of football the Auckland Technical Old Boys, playing an extremely scratch side, defeated the Old Boys of the Hamilton Technical School to the tune of 27 to 8. Auckland fielded several seniors, and as the visitors were only a third grade team the heavier local men found no difficulty in pulling off the bout. Neither team took the game seriously, and it developed, before long, into a scramble. The greens' first try was the result of a good passing rush, which culminated in J. Harris getting over for D. Keane to convert. From then on Hamilton were never in the picture, and although they managed to score two tries, were hopelessly outclassed. Try-getters for Auckland were: —Porteous (3), Keane (2), while the latter potted a goal. Hamilton got their points through tlie agency of Bankier and Jepson, while Kirby converted one.
