YOUNG MEN'S INSTITUTE.
PITT STREET ACTIVITIES
There was a large attendance for the twenty-ninth annual meeting of the Wesley Young Men's Institute in Wesley Hall on the 12th inst., Rev. W. Walker presiding. The annual report showed that the various sports and social activities of the institute were being maintained with vigour, the total membership being 74. The financial statement revealed a satisfactory position, £386 having been handled by the club treasurers during the past year. Rev. W. Walker, Messrs. G. Riddell and D. Payne were unanimously re-elected to the positions of president, secretary and treasurer respectively. Reference was made to the loss the institute had sustained in the death of Mr. S. J. Ambury, and all stood while a motion of sympathy with Mrs. Ambury was passed. Yesterday being Floral Sunday the Church was suitably decorated. In the morning the Pitt Street and St. Johns Girl Guides paraded, their smart appearance making a favourable impression. In the evening the Rev. W. Y\ alker gave an inspiring address on ''God in Nature.
