MAY END THIS MONTH.
PARLIAMENTARY SESSION. LIGHT LEGISLATIVE LIST. TRANSPORT BILL WELL ADVANCED. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. There are good prospects of the Parliamentary session ending this month, for the Prime Minister will be in his place to-night, and the taxing legislation, the most important remaining item, can proceed. The only contentious section of the estimates to be dealt with is that of the Railway Department, and members expect to clear off all the remaining classes of votes during the coming week. The Wheat Committee is likely to hear its last witness on Tuesday, and the Transport Bill, which has been the subject of a large amount of evidence, is in a forward state in committee, with every prospect of being' reported to the House bv Thursday. As the legislative programme is extremely light, members need not be unduly hurried if they carry out the whole programme within the next fortnight.
