CHURCH FEDERATION.

SUGGESTION TO BAPTIST UNION. A deputation from the Auckland Ministers' Association, consisting of Revs. W. Walker (president), George Jackson (secretary), and H. A. G. Clark, was introduced to the Baptist Union Conference by Kev. A. S. Wilson this morning. Mr. Walker suggested that the time had coeie when a federation of the evangelical churches of the Dominion should be formed to enable the churches to make an emphatic and united pronouncement on great moral issues and speak to Government authorities with a definite note. The Church was faced with tremendous tasks, and something practical should be done to secure the solid unity of the evangelical forces of the Dominion. The chairman, Mr. S. Barry, thanked the deputation for their visit, and expressed hearty approval of the suggestion that the evangelical churches should become more closely federated. He assured the deputation that the Baptist Union would favourably consider any practical suggestion.
