NEW LYNN SPRING SHOW.

DATE FIXED, NOVEMBER 16. MOKE TROPHIES DONATED. At a meeting of the New Lynn and District Horticultural Society, the president Mr. Geo. Lawson, presided over a large attendance of members. It was resolved to stage the spring exhibition on Saturday, November lb. The previous year's schedule was revised and adopted, with added classes for woodwork. Classes for school children were made very attractive. A silver cup was presented by Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Cutler to be competed for annually in. the amateur gladioli class. This makes ■the third cup presented to the society since last November, the previous donors being Messrs. Albert Crura and A. P. ' Naylor. Mr. E. S. Kigali, last year's winner oE the CdumCup in the amateur rose section, has presented the society with a miniature of this cup to be won outright, by the winner of the Crum Cup at this year's show. A further trophy donated was that of an oil painting from Mr. John Finlow, to be competed for in the cut flower section. A strong ladies' committee has been set up to supervise the indusrial sectoin. The following donations liave been received: New Lynn Borough Council, £2 2/; Mr. C. F. Gardner, £1 1/; Mr. Frank Brooke-Taylor, £2 2/.
