SECONDARY SCHOOLS' MEETING EVENTS AT THE DOMAIN. Favoured with fine weather and a dry track, the Auckland Secondary Athletic Sports Association held their second annual meeting at the Domain this afternoon. Competition was keen and there were some excellent finishes. ■ A musical programme by the band of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, was much appreciated. The letters in parentheses in the details of results indicate the schools which the competitors represent. A.G.S., Auckland Grammar School; K.C., King's College; M.A.G.S., Mount Albert Grammar School; SJELC, Sacred Heart College; St.S.S., St. Stephen's School; S.M.T.C., Seddon Memorial Technical College; T.G.S., Takapiina Grammar School. Results:— 120 YARDS HURDLES, SENIOR. First Heat. —Sawers (M.A.G.S.) 1," Fenwick (K.C.) 2. Hum (S.H.C.) 3. Time. 10 3-ss. Won by three yards, with one yard between second and third. ■Second Heat.—Caughey (K.C.) 1, Jonos (M.A.G.S.) 2. Carnachan (A.G.S.) 3. Time, 1G 3-ss. Won easily. 90 YARDS HURDLES, JUNIOR. First Heat. —Stewnrt (K.C.) 1, Arb (S.M.T.C.) 2, Carnaehan (A.G.S.) 3. Time, 14 2-ss. Won by four yards. Second Heat. — Lewis (K.C.) 1, Enting (A.G.i'.l 2, Lee (S.H.C.) ;t. Time, 13 2-58. The field wet a slow jmee at the start, but it quickened as soon j:s' the runners came level with the utand. First time past the stand Sawyer (Mount Albert) was two yards in frontof Wiitkins (Technical), but along the Jtack Eadc put in a great effort, leaving the rest of the field standing. Newton-King also showed plenty of reserve energy anil went up to second place. This pair held control to the finish, Bode winning by twelve yards. The two King's College representatives finished almost together, Hargrave beating Coles by inches. SSO YARDS JUNIOR. Warburton (A.G.S.) 1 Smith (A.G.S.) Z Stevens (T.G.S.) 3 Time, 2.10 1-5. " • Turning into the oval, the field was well bunched. Passing the stand the first time Warburton went to the front with a long stride, and increased his advantage all the way round the second lap, winning by 15 yards. Smith kept second place, although Stevens put in a'strong challenge near the tape. 100 YARDS SENIOR. Fraser (A.G.S.) 1 Caughey (K.C.) 2 Buckley (T.G.S.) 3 Time, 11s. It was level-pegging for the first thirty vards, but the placed men then forged to the front. Over the -last twenty-five yards Eraser showed the strongest finish and won jy two feot from Caughey, who just headed Buckley. A splendid race. 100 YARDS JUNIOR, ilammon (A.G.S.) 1 Soberts (A.G.S.) 2 jewis (K.C.) o Time, 11s. This was another good race. With half :lir distance covered Lewis had a ead on Ilammon. but the Grammar lad inwound a tine burst of speed to get to the 'rent and win ;by a yard. tired at he finish and Roberts just got up in time ;o beat him for second place. 440 YARDS SENIOR.
