TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE.

MORE BUSINESS DOING. BANKS AND COALS. Business was quite brisk on the local Exchange yesterday afternoon, and a substantial number of .sales were finalised on the basis of the noon quotations. Several additional transactions were recorded at the first call this niorning. Breweries, coals and banks have received most attention. Bank shares are Inclined to be easier, the lower trend being confirmed on the sales registered, whilst Bank of New South Wales have also slipped back. Coals are very firm, and all values are well maintained. Breweries seem to have reached the peak in the meantime, and at the moment there is a lull, with holders standing out for £4 10/9. Wilsons Cement are easier, with buyers back to £2 3/6. The Noon Call. There was the customary free bidding at the noon call, but no business was finalised, though a sale of Union Bank, showing 6d down, recorded outside the room, was notified. Interest Rates.
