PRESENTATIONS.
At a special meeting of the Otahuhu J3orough Council last evening presentations were made to Miss H. Laundv, who is retiring after ten years' service as assistant-town clerk. On behalf of the council, Mayor and councillors, Mr. T. Clements presented Miss Laundy with a handsome silver tea service. On behalf of the quarry and outside employees Mr. G. V. Pearce presented her with a dining rixini clock, in addition to which the office staff contributed a duchess tea service. Mr. T. Crow replied on behalf of Miss Laundy. The Mayor highly praised Miss Laundy's work during her ten years' service. ~
The members of Haeremai Lodge met on Thursday evening in the Ivumeu hall to bid farewell to Bro. W. L. Smith, who has been transferred from the Kumeu Post Office. The gathering was presided over by Bro. T. R. Kearney, N.G., who spoke very highly of the departing brother, and made a presentation, on behalf of the officers and brothers of Haeremai Lodge, as a token of the splendid help he had given the lodge. Musical items were given by Bros A Grunt, G. Duncan, T. R. Kearney, G. e". Reed, C. Glogoski, and W. H. Malins.
