An advertiser in a London newspaper called for twelve respectable baldheaded gentlemen who would allow him to paint a typewriter advertisement on their scalps. The successful applicant* were required to attend theatres, concert halls and other assemblies where heads are usually uncovered. Each was given a personal attendant to protect him from annoyance. Thirty-five replies were received, the youngest man being 25. The chief lure appears to be the prospect of free entertainment.
