BOXING.
L. MacDONALD ARRIVES. Fit and well and eager to get into tlie ring again Lachie Macdonald, _ the Timaru middle-weight boxer, arrived from the South last evening. Macdonald is to -meet Artie Hay at Auckland as the lieadliner to the Northern Boxing Association's programme on Monday week. The match'will carry with it the New Zealand middle-weight title. When Macdonald clashes with Hay he will be having his first fight since his return from Australia four months ago. Despite his spell of idleness he has been hard at it on the road and, with ten days to finish off his training at Auckland, considers that he. will be in perfect condition on Monday we4k. In his fights with Tommy Mclnnes here last year, Macdonald showed himself as an entertaining fighter, and there is no reason to doubt that he will be. anything but a crowd pleaser against Hay. During the next week Macdonald will train nightly at Mr. H. Donovan's Parnell gymnasium.
