Vanessa was not doing her best to run half a-mile in 55 4-ss. j Trig showed more pace than Owairaka I ovcij five furlongs in 1.5 3-5. Trig had tho,.best of the weights. Glenstar gave Transformer a start over the best part of six furlongs and finished in front, the last five taking 1.8 1-5. . Flying Prince and Air King went off at intervals, the former completing the distance in 1.20 3-5, while Air King was eased up over the last furlong. Awarere and Value rail from the seven furlong post to the one furlong post and were then eased up. The six furlongs occupied 1.20. Crimestor was alongside Ruffles at the end of half a-mile in 50 3-ss—a <rood gallop. Desert Glow and Prodicc went a round (nine furlongs), which they accomplished in 2.5, the last mile taking 1.50. Arikitoa joined in over the last six, and the trio finished about on terms, but it appeared as if Prodice could have done better. Valmaire and Illuminagh ran half amile in 53 3-ss, with Biddy's Boy, who was not doing his best, in the rear. Other horses to do useful work were Benzora, Archeen, Indolent, Merry Mason, Trickle, White Fang, Tahoma, Partial Eclipse, Lady Eustace, Ladv Day,' Watch Officer and Lady Quex.
