BOXER'S SUIT.
Leichhardt Stadium, Ltd., Sued For Prize Money. MONSON'S RECENT FIGHT. SYDNEY, September 10.
Edward Monson, middle-weight champion boxer of Australia, was to-day awarded £120 damages against the Leichhardt Stadium, Limited. That sum represented the amount promised by the management of the stadium for a win, lose or draw in a recent match against Merv Williams for the middleweight title. The referee declared it "no fight" in the fifth round and the prize money was all withheld. Monson stated in evidence that he fought to the best of his ability. He knocked Williams down twice in the early rounds.
