AVIATION IN PHILIPPINES.
AMERICAN COMPANY'S PLANS. EXTENSION TO AUSTRALIA. (Special Correspondence.) MANILA, August 3. Four million pesos will be expended at once by the Aviation Corporation of the Philippines for the establishment of commercial aviation in the Archipelago. A 0,000,000 pesos reserve fund is also available for future needs.
Two million pesos will be expended locally for the establishment of airports, buildings and hangars, and a like sum will be expended in the United States for the purchase of machines. Three types of 'planes will bo used, amphibians, flying boats and land 'planes. Present plans call for the immediate deliveiy of six amphibians, two fl}'ing boats and twelve land 'planes. The first flight is expected to be made early in November, with complete service in operation by January, 1930. The first line to be opened by the company will be from Manila to Iloilo, Cebu and Davao. With the arrival of the entire fleet the service will be extended to China and Australia.
Tn connection with the extension of the service, reports are to the effect that soon after operations arc started the Philippines will become a link in a round-the-world service. Plans are known to have been completed-for regular service- from San Francisco to Honolulu. It is stated that this line will be extended to the Philippines at an early date for the delivery of mail..
