AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.
General entries for the spring meeting of the Auckland Racing Club and forfeits for the Welcome Stakes and Great Northern Guineas arc due with the secretary (Mr. W. S. Spencc) at 5 p.m. next Friday.
The- Sun star horse, British Empire, purchased in Sydney by F. D. Jones for Freeman Holmes, of Christchurch, arrived at Wellington by the Mahcno yesterday. ,
This year the Wanganui Jockey Club has made a change in the running of the two-year-old parade, which hitherto has been sandwiched in between the third and fourth races. To-morrow the parade will he held before the first race. The two-year-olds must be in the birdcage by 11 a.m., and the parade will take place at 11.15 a.m. Some well-bred youngsters are included, the entries being as follow:— Cylinder, Love Song, Arvada, Arisus, Watch Officer, Nimble, Gesture, Simba, Tenterden, Kalmiik, Arastar, Oil King, br f Callaghan—Password, Seascout, Walla rua, Isa, b g Diacquenod —Mazabuka, Tar Baby, Orapoi, Chief Link, Paratoo, b g Grandcourt— Orozino ch f Capo Horn—Retraction.
Royal Game, who has raced prominently over middle distances recently, figures in the Marangai Handicap, to be run on the opening day of the Wanganui meeting. This horse accounted for the Islington Handicap on the concluding day of the Grand National meeting" last month, and also ran another good race when he finished third to Barometer and Black Mint at Marton last week. Royal Game has previously shown to advantage on the Wanganui course, being successful in the Higgie Handicap at the corresponding meeting twelve months ago With the racing he has had during the past month or two Royal Game should be well served as regards condition, and with 7.9 in the Marangai Handicap he will have a further opportunity to add to his record.
