GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.
The fortnightly meeting of the Glen Eden town Board was held on Monday nigat. Mr. W. E. Martin presiding. Present: Councillors W. H. Shepherd, Bond, Routley and Rosier. An apology on account of sickness was received from Mr. G. H. Ambler.
Clayburn and Brandon Roads.—The board's engineer, Mr. Spencer, presented estimates of the work of metalling, etc., of Upper Brandon and Clayburn Roads.— It was decided that the formation work of Brandon Road be done by petty contract, and the remainder by day labour. Post Office.-Mr. H. G. R. Mason, intimated that the Post and Telegraph Department had rejected Mr. Routley s offer of a site for a post office at the corner of Valley and West Coast Roads. It was resolved to write Mr. Mason, expressing regret at the Departments decision.
Public Library .-In reply to a request from the library committee, the board voted a sum of £1.1/.
Dust Nuisance—ln reply to a petition by tradesmen in the business portion ol the West Coast Road, asking for a mitigation of the dust nuisance, it was stated that provision had been made in the estimates for the tar sealing of that portion of the road. Building Permits. - Building Permits were granted to Messrs. Russell, Wilkmson and Harris.
