LONDON SHEEPSKIN SALES. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London office:—At the sheepskins sales there was a good attendance of buyers. Competition was irregular. American buyers were the principal operators. As compared with the closing rates of last series, Merinos were from 5 per cent to IVz per cent lower, and crossbred par to 5. per cent lower. A total of 4335 bales was offered, and 3363 bales were sold. Following is the range < : prices:—Merino, threequarter to full-woolled, to 13V 2 d; quarter to half-woolled, 8d to lid; short and shorn, 6%d to Bd. Crossbred, threequarter to full-woolled, fine, 13d to 16d; medium and coarse, 10d to 13% d; quarter to half-woolled, fine, 10d to 13% d; medium nnd coarse, 9d to. 13d; short and shorn, 8&d to 12d; lambs, lid to 14d. \ SYDNEY WOOL SALES. FROZEN MEAT. The Bank of New Zealand yesterdayreceived the following advice from-its London office as at the close of business last week: — Frozen Meat.—There is a little better demand for wether mutton. The ewe market is easier, owing to competition from other sources. There is a fair demand for lambs. Unfavourable weather is affecting the trade generally. Quotations are as follow:— Mutton.—Wethers, light, 5%d to 6%d per lb; heavy, 5d to 5%d. Ewes, 4ted to 4%d. Lambs.—Twos, B%d to B%d; fours, 7%d to 8d; eights, 754 d to 8d; seconds, 7%d to Bd. Press Association.) (Received 11 a.m.) CHICAGO, September 9. Wheat for delivery in September is quoted at Chicago at $1.33% per bushel. For December delivery the rate is $1.41%, March, $1.47%, and for May 1.50%.
