TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE.

BREWERIES STILL ADVANCE. SALES AT v £4 5/3. The continued advance in offers for Xew Zealand Breweries shares is the chief feature in Stock Exchange trading at present, and a new high mark was recorded yesterday with a sale locally, and one also in Wellington at £-1 5/3. The present position of Breweries scrip, from an investment point of view, appears to bo as follows:— Taking £4 5/3 as the present market price of the shares, the investor will receive £3 10/4 per cent per annum on his outlay until his bonus share becomes available on March 31, 1931, after which the return would be automatically increased to £5 5/6, per cent, assuming the company continues to pay 15 per cent p.a. dividend. Moreover, tile bonus shares will participate in any interim dividend that may be paid on March 31, which was foreshadowed in the chairman's speech. With regard to the debentures a purchaser at current rates, say £1 8/6, will receive £7 0/4 per cent per annum on his outlay until the scrip is converted into shares, after which—still on the assumption of a continuous 15 per cent dividend — the return would be £5 5/3 per cent. The Noon Call, Bidding was fairly brisk at the noon call, and several sales were recorded. Auckland Gas lias just announced its interim dividend; 18/5 was paid for the contributing issue, and buyers are offering £1 4/!) for the ordinary. Coal shares are firm, and advances have been registered both for Pukemiro and Waipa. Union Bank is still weak, sellers dropping to £15 13/. A buyer for Mosgiel came iri offering the high price of £7 12/6 for the £5 scrip. Interest Rates.
