MOTORIST FINED.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI. Monday. T. N. Tremewan, of Hikurangi, was to-day fined £25 and £5 5/ costs for being intoxicated while in charge of a car in Bank Street on July 13. Evidence was given that accused collided with a car driven by Jack Charters, after which his car mounted the kerb and crashed through a fence. Considerable damage was done to both cars. Accused said he was trying to pass a cyclist who suddenly appeared before him.
