Lieutenant-Colonel F. Symon, Director of Artillery, is visiting Auckland. Mr. W. Grounds, of Hokianga, is visiting Auckland. He is staying at the Star Hotel. Mr. A. E. Meaden, Mr. G. T. Wilson and Mr. B. Allen (Wellington) are among the guests at the Grand Hotel. Mr. A. E. Barlow, ticket inspector at Frankton Junction, has retired on superannuation after forty years' service with the Railway Department. The Hon. C. H. Izard, M.L.C., and Messrs. H. R. Jenkins, A. M. Samuel, W. E. Parry and H. M. Rushworth, M.P.'s, returned to Wellington by last night's express. Mr. F. Jackson (Palmerston North), Mr. T. Stewart (Helensville), Mr. 0. A. Fitzpatrick (Sydney), and Mr. W. Cedarwall and Mr. J. Davics (Gisborne) are at the Royal Hotel.Mr. G. E. Rogers (Havelock North), Mr. W. E. Caldow (Wellington), Mr. T. Mitchell (Whangarei), Mr. A. Brown (Tauranga), and Mr. C. Johnstone (Whatawhata) are staying at the Central Hotel. Mr. F. Marshall (Morrinsville), Mr. and Mrs. J. Bethell (Whangarei), Mr. O. E. Evans (Wellington), Mr. F. B. Hale (Christchurch), and Mr. J. A. Grant and Mr. S. Gibson (Palmerston North) are at the Star Hotel. Mr. Justice Ostler arrived in Auckland yesterday to preside over sittings of the Supreme Court from Thursday, when Mr. Justice Kennedy will leave for Dunedin. until the arrival of Mr. Justice Smith, who has been transferred from Wellington.
