LEAGUE OFFER.
STAR WING THREE-QUARTER.
HARDGRAVE FOR ST. HELENS.
TERMS FROM ENGLISH CLUB,
I ollowing closely on the rumour that B,
( 'Shaver") Hardgrave, the crack Rugby League wing three-quarter, and captain of the Newton Club, was going to England to play League, comes the definite announcement that he has received an offer from the St. Helens CluV-(Lan-cashire). The terms have not been made public, but it is known that they are sufficiently attractive to interest.the New Zealand representative. When seen this afternoon, Hardgrave was reluctant to discuss the matter, but admitted that he was giving the offer consideration.
Hardgrave is the League's star threequarter, and should he go to England if will be a decided loss to the code. He is a versatile and brilliant player, and year plo.yed in all three testa against tne English tourists, and in several of the minor matches.
