AVONDALE COLLISIONS.

DUE TO HEAVY FOG.

CAR STRUCK ON WHAU BRIDGE,

A collision occurred on the Whau Bridge at 7.50 this morning between a bus and a two-seater motor car. The car was badly damaged. A few minutes later a light touring car skidded on the main road some distance from the bridge and crashed into a lorry;.:--In neither instance was anyone seriously hurt. Both collisions were due to the thick fog which hung over the Avondale district this morning. In the case o| the bridge collision the respective-,, drivers saw nothing until-it was too late to avoid a crash. The driver of the car, Mr. James_ Simpson, was cut about the face by flying glass from the windscreen, ihe running board was ripped off the car. First aid was given bv Dr. Harper and Mr. Simpson was sent to the Auckland Hospital. In. tlie case of the collision between the other car and lorry neither vehicle was damaged.
