THE CAMBRIDGE COMPANY. ADVANCE FOR MAY: (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, Monday. Another dairying season lias now readied its close, and at the present time district dairymen are enjoying a welldeserved holiday, though, of course, there are still a number of cows milking. In fact, with such a mild winter and plenty of feed, it is quite a contract to supervise the herd so as to give the milkers a rest. Up to the'end of May the Cambridge Go-on. Dairy Co. has paid out for the season the huge sum of £242,925, as against £206.164, for the previous year, an increase of £36,761. In terms of butterfat the increase is 12% per cent. The pay-out for May supply totals £10,463, on the basis of 1/4% lb butterfat, against £9036 for the corresponding period last season, when the butterfat basis of payment was the same. The mildness of the early winter is shown in the fact that the. company's supply showed an increase of 16 per cent over May, 1928. NORTHERN DISTRICTS. PROFITABLE MILKING. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. The two co-operative dairy companies operating in this district with 860 suppliers have already distributed _ £371,948 cash this season, with substantial fuitliei payments to be declared at the annual meet--111 Tlie Northern Wairoa concern shows an increase in cash 1 tumov er er the past season of £49,064. The Ruawai increase is £33 711, the latter company having already paid an average of £613 per supplier for this season. A local farmer milking 100 cows had a turnover of £1900, out of which two gharemilkers get about £670, or a clcai profit of £25(1 each.
