PUKEKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The Pukekolie Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. John Routly, presiding. It was decided to instal 4-incli water mains in certain streets, and a 3-inch main in others. The Finance Committee was asked to consider the matter of water rates for the current year, a graduated.scale being suggested. It was decided to supply water to the Pukekohe Bowling Club at 1/ per 1000 gallons, with a minimum revenue of £1.5 a year, provided the club, at its own cost;, installs the desired 3-inch mains from its road boundary into the green. The Mayor's honorarium was fixed at £110 per annum. The foreman, Mr. S. R. Clews, reported that the new reservoir on Roose's Hill Ivxl been-completed at a total cost of £11'57. The foreman- and his staff were congratulated. Repairs to the old reservoir were authorised. The council, by seven votes to two, expressed itself in favour of the law providing for a special revaluation to give relief in regard to rating to farm lands withm boroughs in lieu of the proposed legislation, providing for classifying lands within borough radius.
