BOTH ARRESTBD. QUEENIE HARWOOD'S RUSE. A novel method of getting arrested, so tha.t she could keep her mother company in the police cells during the week-end \va« evolved by Queenie Harwood (26) on Saturday. This woman, already well known to the police by reason of her associations with Chinese, appeared at the Police Court this morning, along with her mother. Ada Harwood, who was sent to prison for three months on a vagrancy charge. Queenie Harwood pleaded guilty to a charge of incurring a debt of 13/ with a taxi driver by means of fraud.

'•'After her mother was locked up on Saturday," said Sub-inspector McCarthy, "Queenie came to the police station and asked to be locked up as well. We sent her away, but she went down town and engaged* a taxi. She drove round the town until 13/ had been rung up. on the meter. Then, when asked for the fare, she refused to pay, and insisted that the driver should take her to the police station. Of course, we then had to lock
