Messrs. C. F. Eskell and D. Moncur (Wellington) are at the Grand Hotel. The Hon. Vernon Reed, M.L.C., and Mrs. Reed left for Wellington by last night's train. Dr. G. Graham Russell is acting port health officer at Auckland in place of Dr. S. L. Harke, who is on holiday leave. Mr. J. White (Sydney*), Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Triggs (Huapai), Mr. J. W. Beasley (Wellington) are at the Star Hotel.
Mr.' J. R. Fow, Mayor of Hamilton, has been chosen to represent the Borough Council on the High School Board of Governors.
Mr. A. E. Davey, chairman of the Dominion. Exeeutivii-'' of.-- the United Political party, was a passenger for Wellington by* last night's express. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Chadwick, of Remuera, who returned by the Corinthic to Wellington last Friday, after spending a year in England, are again at their residence, Aorangi, Green Lane. Central Hotel guests include: Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Luxford (Whangarei), Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Grant (Dargaville), Mr. T. H. Wilson (Portland), Mr. W. Johnstone (Te Awamutu), Mr. A. Murie, Mr. L. E. Eastabrook (Wellington).
Dr. Frederick E. Webster, formerly of Auckland Hospital, has passed the primary examination for the degree of F.R.C.S. Dr. Webster is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Webster, of Heme Bay, and grandson of Mrs. and the late Mr. S. L. Webster, of "New Plymouth.
