TE AItOHA. The school committee has invited the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy to officiate at the opening of the dental clinic here this month. TUAKAU. The Massey Memorial Shield, which was won by the Onewhero School at the Franklin Show last February, was presented on Tuesday by the president of the Agricultural and Pastoral Society, Mr. B. Allan. The shield is awarded for the

A special meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council was held on Monday for the purpose of adopting estimates. The water rate was reduced from 3-Sd to -]d. Other rates remain the same as last year. T|ie committee of the Te Awamufu brarvch of the Plunket Society passed the following resolution : — '"I'hat as (he good work done by the soeietv in a child's early years is to a large 'extent nullified when lie enters the local infant school by Hie unhealthy conditions prevailing there, this committee stronpjlv urges the To Awamutu District High School committee to continue its efforts to remedy the conditions, which constitute a serious menace not only to the health of the rising gem-ration, but to the community in general."

In the evening a public address was given by Rev. Goldie. The extensive additions to the Te Puke school have been entrusted to Mr. T. E. Palmer, the successful tenderer.
