STEAMER DELAYED.

TROUBLE OVER DISMISSAL.

SETTLEMENT REACHED TO-DAY.

Following the dismissal of one of their number, the crew of the Union Company's steamer Kartigi refused to sail yesterday afternoon, and the vessel was held up overnight. The company threatened that if the crew persisted in their refusal it would pay off all hands and lay the ship up indefinitely. This morning, however, an amicable arrangement was reached, and the vessel sailed for Westport shortly after 1 p.m. The Kartigi is a cargo steamer. At Auckland she has been discharging General cargo from Australia, and from here she goes to Westport to load coal for' Wellington.
