Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Steele (Russell) and Mr. W. H. Blakiston (Wellington) are staying at the Central Hotel.

The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Leader of the Opposition, left for Wellington and the South Island by train last evening.

His Honor Sir Alexander Herdman will leave to-morrow for Hamilton, to preside over the criminal sessions of the Supreme Court, which open there on Tuesday. Mr. Justice Blair will arrive in Auckland to-morrow to take up duty on the Supreme Court Bench next week.
