POULTRY.
At yesterday's auctions the supply of poultry was heavy, and the demand was very fair. The prices paid remain about the same, except pullets, which show a fall. Selling rates were as follow: — Cockerels, heavy breeds, prime, 5/ to 6/6 each; not prime, 3/ upwards; light breeds, prime, 4/ to 5/; not prime, 3/ upwards. Fat roosters, heavy breeds, prime, 2/6 to 3/9; light breeds, 2/ to 2/6. Fat hens, heavy breeds, 3/ to 3/6; light breeds, 1/9 to 2/3. Pullets, heavy breeds, best, 4/ to 5/3; smaller, 2/ and upwards; light breeds, best, 4/ to 5/3; smaller, 2/6 and upwards. Drakes, young, prime, 3/3 to 3/9; smaller, 2/3 upwards. Ducks, young, 3/6 to 4/6; old, 2/6 to 3/. Drakes, old, 2/ to 5/. :Gobbletßj 1J to 12/.
