HISTORIC PHOTOGRAPHS.

The United party's new rooms in Colwill's Chambers, Swanson Street, were opened yesterday, the occasion being a, pleasant function at which Sir Joseph Ward and several Cabinet members and M.B.'b were present. Sir Joseph was welcomed by Mr. J. Trevithick (chairman of the Auckland Provincial Committee), Mr. H. C. Baulf (Auckland provincial organiser) and many supporters of the party, including two veterans in Mr. Joseph Rea and Mr. E. O'Keef. Mr! Trevithick congratulated Sir Joseph on the splendid reception which had been accorded to him during his Auckland visit, and expressed the pleasure which it gave to members of the party to see their leader amongst them once again. Responding, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation of the good work which had been done by the Auckland executive.

The new offices consist of. a large committee and common room where supporters of the party may meet; the secretarial office and the organiser's office. The large room is decorated with pictures of New Zealand scenery, and in the organiser's office are portraits of the Hon. E. J. Seddon, the Hon. W. P. Massey and the present Prime Minister, in addition to photographs of Mr. Seddon's Cabinet (taken nearly thirty years ago) and the Cabinet which is now in office.
