Fines totalling £40 were imposed by Mr. Tate, S.M., at Waitara this morning' on Thomas Norman Taylor, who pleaded guilty to two charges of being in the street for the purpose of betting, and on having entered into a bet on the result of the Rata Hurdles at the Wanganui races.
