"RED TAPE."
■ AND A COLD BUILDING. SOME HEAT WANTED. "Just because of a silly Government regulation we all have to shiver in this building for th,e rest of the month," was the complaint made by a man who works in the * Magistrate's Court "building in Courthouse Lane. He explained that an excellent system of hot water heating was installed throughout the building, and that there was plenty of coal for the boiler in the cellars. "But, according to regulations, the boiler must only be used during the months of May, June and July," never mind how cold it might be before or afterwards. Yesterday, and again to-day, Ave have all been shivering just because of all this red tape. It does not matter how hot the day might be, if it is during the time the heaters are to be in use, we have got to put up with them just the same." Just at present what is wanted in this cold, draughty building is a little heat to temper with justice dispensed there daily.
