"ACCIDENTAL DEATH."
POISON TAKEN FOR OIE. RETIRED FARMER'S DEATH. A verdict of accidental death was returned by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the inquest yesterday on the death of Richard O'Rourke (70), a retired farmer, who died on April 29. It was stated in medical evidence that death was caused by heart failure following upon burns to the throat and chest from acetic acid swallowed under the impression that it was castor oil, Evidence showed that deceased, who was a widower, came to Auckland from his home at Te Kokino, near Waipawa. While he was staying at a home in Pitt Street, he accidentally took a drink from a bottle containing acetic acid.
