CYCLING.
AUCKLAND CLUB. The Auckland Cycle Club were favoured with beautiful weather at Mangere on Saturday for their 13.S miles road race (two laps of the circuit). There was a good master of riders, seventeen taking part. The result was:— C. Storey (7m) • £ J. Jacob (7m) - P. Lowndes (3m) « D. Storey (lim) 4 Time of race, 3Sm 13s. Fastest time was cained by D. Storey (lim), who did the distance in 34m 42 l-ss. At the Black Bridse the first time round C. Storey and Jacob, the limit men, were in the lead with the 3m men, Rae. Lowndes, Lee and Whyte 2§m behind. Potter and D. Storey going well a minute behind them. The limit men held their lead to the finish. C. Storey winning from Jacob by half a length. Lowndes was third, beating D. Storey by a wheel for the third place. D. Storey put up a great ride, and was a half a minute to the "good of the scratch men for fastest time. Prior and Lindop had good tussle. Prior beating Lindop over the line. Hayes having the misfortune to rip out three spokes. Next Saturday's race will be a 5.2 miles handicap, one lap of the circuit.
