UNSATISFACTORY.

MAY DAY RIOTING. Moscow Not Pleased "With Results. CONTINENT FAIELY QUIET. ("Times" Cables.) LOXBOX, May 2. The Berlin correspondent of the ••Tillies''' states that according- to the Russian newspaper "Pravda' the May Day events are not likely to be regarded with satisfaction in Moscow. The Berlin police achieved their mam purpose, which was to prevent two large processions. There was a remarkable scarcity of Red flags, even in the working-class districts. Their places were taken by Republican flags. Although there were disturbances in Berlin nothing happened elsewhere in Germany. Reports from the Ruhr district shew that the demonstrations there were orderly. The Rhineland and Westphalia were quieter than in past years. In Paris many of tha factories were idle on May Day. There were 2000 arrests, including 50 foreigners. Reports from the majority of the European capitals show that the alarm raised about May Day and the threats of riots and bloodshed were empty Communistic propaganda. In London the people went about their work unaffected by the large procession to Hyde Park. Xothing worse resulted than the serious dislocation of traffic. There were no disturbances in Rumania and the outdoor festivities were calm. Vienna was very quiet, and Warsaw had the quietest May Day since the war. In Moscow, however, several people were killed or wounded. Reports from Barcelona. Spain, state that two bombs were exploded there. They partly destroyed a bridge. The telephone wires were cut. It is thought that something more serious than a May Day demonstration was behind these occurrences.
