SUPREME COURT SESSION.
OPENING ON TUESDAY. * HEAVY LIST OF FIXTURES. Eighty divorce cases were included in the list of fixtures which occupied the attention of Mr. Justice Blair and Mr. Justice Kennedy at the Supreme Court this morning. Civil cases numbered 78, including eight jury cases, and made the total of cases to be dealt with at the next session of the Court, 158. Compared with the list for the opening session of the year to-day's fixtures represented a heavy assignment. On the criminal list are thirteen cases, which is unusually light. Mr. Justice Herdman, who has lpeen acting Chief Justice, is expected to arrive in Auckland on Sunday, from Wellington, and may preside at the opening of the criminal session on Tuesday. It is undecided which of the justices at present in Auckland will be associated with him. The Arbitration Court concluded its sitting to-day, and the members of the Court leave this evening for Wellington. They will sit in Duncdin on May 10, and will return to Auckland in about three months' time.
