BURGLAR SENT TO GAOL. INDUCED BOY TO STEAL. STUART'S SALUTARY SENTENCE. Tlireo charges of breaking, entering and theft of various articles worth £2 14/ from • dwellings at Titirangi oh April 11, brought against William Ernest Stuart (29), a labourer, at the Police Court this morning, were reduced to charges of common theft, and dealt with summarily. "These are not heinous charges, although they are fairly serious in their own way," said Sub-Inspector McCarthy. "There is a young boy here who is jointly charged with This boy met Stuart, who induced him to go to Titirangi and enter, the houses by rear.windows and steal stuff. It is a class of offence which deserves a salutary sentence. The boy was under his influence." Mr. Hunt said that Stuart, who had. used the boy as a tool, had been twice previously iii gaol. He was sentenced to three . months' 'imprisonment on each charge, the terms to : be cumulative. The boy was admonished and discharged.- •
