Mr. P. J. O'Regan returned to Wellington by train last evening. Colonel W. Murphy (County Cork) is staying at Hotel Cargen. Sir Geo. Fowlds was a passenger from South by the Limited express this morning. Mr. W. Grounds (Hokianga), Mr. G. Syme (Hawera), Mr. W. E. H. Mackenzie (Wellington) are guests at the Star Hotel. Mr. W. E. Hay-Mackenzie, chief clerk in the maintenance branch of the railways, Wellington, is on a visit to Auckland. Mr. X. E. Hutchings, private secretary to the Minister of Public Works, was a passenger by the Limited express from Wellington this morning. Major-General R. Young, j general officer commanding the New Zealand Defence Forces, arrived from Wellington by train yesterday morning. Mr. Cccil Trevithiek, of the firm of Chill well and Trevithiek, architects, is leaving by the Aorangi next Tuesday on a six months 5 trip to the United' States. Mr. A. "McNeil, business agent' for the New Zealand Railways, arrived- from Wellington this morning to make arrangements for opening the Karangahape Road booking office on Monday. Among those staying at the Grand Hotel are: Major G. Straker, Messrs. R. Armstrong, D. Richardson, W. McCutcheon (Wellington), A. Sainsbury (Sydney), W. Ashton (Melbourne), Mr. and Mrs. W. Robertson (Perth). Among those staying ,at the Central Hotel are: Mr. R. G. Ray ward, Sir, W. A. Bridges (Wellington), Mr. R. W. Smith (Ohakune), Mr. W. Coleman (Stratford), Mr. B. W. Harvey (Waverley), Mr. E. McGarrigle , (Hamilton); Mr. W. A. Christensen, Mr. E. J. Malloy (Whangarei).
