NOT SANCTIONED.
Marriage Of King Boris And
Italian Princess.
RELIGIOUS BAN
(Australian and NPress Association.) (Received 11.-iO a.m.) LONDON, April 8. The abandonment of the marriage of King Boris of Bulgaria with l'rincc.-s Giovanna of Italy has caused disappointment in Sofia. The J'ope was willing to sanction the union if Giovanna remained a Catholic, and Mussolini suggested that the heir to the Bulgarian throne be baptised in the orthodox Greek Chueh, provided that the other children were, brought up Catholics. King Boris, however, refused to bind the other children in this manner, so the Vatican declined to sanction the marriage.
