commanding the Now Zealand station. 1 and ae> first, naval member of the Naval 1 Board. The appointment will become. effective as from .Julv 19.
Commodore Geoffrey Blake. D.5.0., was born in 1882 and educatod at Winchester College. He entered the Navy in 1807 and <mickly rose in rank until at the end of the war lie was promoted captain. During the Great War he was Gunnery Commander of the Iron Duke till 1017 and of the Queen Elizabeth from the latter year till 1010. For the two year.following lie was Naval Attache to th I nited States and on his return he com nijtjnricd the Queen Elizabeth, flagship of tH Atlantic Fleet, until 192."). He then served on the staff of the War College, and has been, since 1026, Director of the Royal Xaval Staff Colli •go, Greenwich.
