TROTTING.

WHEEL AND TRACK NOTES. SEASON'S FIXTURES. April 13—Cheviot T.C. April 20—Ashburton T.C. April 20—Te Aroba T.C. May 2, 4—Forbury Park T.C. May 4—Cambridge T.C. May I&—Oamaru T.C. June 1, 3—Canterbury Park T.C. June 1. 3—Hawke'a Bay T.C. June B—Ashburton T.C. June 22, 24— Auckland T.C. The bay pacer Horizon is looking really well just now, and providing nothing unforeseen happens he will be one of G. Robertson's team for the Te Aroha meeting. Van Rich, who is a solid little pacer, and has rarely gone a bad race, was all to pieces on the Hawera-Taranaki trip, and he raced badly in his engagements. In the Taranaki Cup he fell. At latest advices G. Robertson was still on the invalid list at New Plymouth. His horses were taken on to Hawera after the meeting by H: Sewell, who will bring them on to Auckland. Billy Carbine, who improved considerably when trained by G. Robertson, but was not lucky enough to win a stake, has left that trainer's stable, and is now being prepared by A. McSweeney. Etta Cole ie back on the 'Epsom track after her successful trip to Hawera. The daughter of Peterwah lightened up while away. It is her owner's intention to step her out against the pacers in the Te Aroha Cup. When Ben Bingen won on the second day of the Hawera meeting he simply played with his opponents. At Wanga"nui on Thursday he is on 60yds, but the handicap will not trouble him if he goes right.

Hostess was not started in the Taranaki Cup, the stable relying upon Explosion, who ran disappointingly and missed a place. Hostess will be relied upon in the Wanganui Cup, and the bay mare is bound to be hard to dispose of.

The majority of Auckland trainers who have been doing the Hawera and Taranaki meetings returned to Auckland on Sunday. Very little success came the way of Aucklandere, and most of them would find the tour expensive.

Bell Dial and Gold Dial did no good on the Hawera-Taranaki trip. (i. Williams' pair of pacers were brought back to Auckland after racinjr at New Plymouth on Saturday, and are at present located at Epsom under 0. Webb'6 care.

Jewel Pointer, who has left ,T. Shaw's stable, is to be prepared for future racinp by A. Julian, and the crack Auckland pacer joined his team yesterday. At present Jewel Pointer is carrying a lot of condition, and he will require plentv of solid work to fit him for racing.

W. Mitchell has Mountain Dell pacing and looking well. The daughter ot Blue Mountain King will be at Te Aroha. where she should be hard to keep out of the moiiev.

All Red. backed down to a short price, was beaten into second place on Saturday at New Plymouth. This i« a pood sort of novice, and will have a pood chance to get on the winning list on Thursday in the Ea??tbrook Haudicap at Wangauui.

J. Bryce was very disappointed when Bonanza failed to get in the money at New Plymouth, and the chestnut has been returned to his owner. There are a lot worse pacers than Bonanza, and hemay bring off a surprise in a small race at Te Aroha or Cambridge.

A. Dyer is keeping Glandore going, and the roan •.•elding is looking better now than for a long time pa*t. Up to the. present Glandore ha? l»een a big disappointment. but lie liat- the pace and can stay, and only ha- to be in the right mood to pet in the money.

Without beinp a pood one. Native Hero is an honest pacer who battles alonp. litit pet? heat en because he lacks that little bit of da~h neee»arv at the end to win racer-. He should have a pood outside chance in the Wanpanui Cup. in which he is on the front. R. A. McMillan has produced a smart pacer'in Dawdler. He was piven his firet run at the Thames, but was unsiphted. .A week later he spreadeapled a fudd at Hawera, and then went on to the Taranaki nieetinp to score apain. He looks like winninp apain in the very near future, and next season should be racinc in pood company. C. P.. Lee is keepinp Nelson Dillon and Golden Hope p-oinp. The pair will mo-t likely be taken to the Te Aroha meeting. Nelson Dillon has yet to win a race for his owner-trainer, and more than once when supported with confidence Nelson Dillon has let his party down. Golden Hope, too, failed to pet in the money in the mile Saddle at the Thames, when solidlv backed.
