DUNEDIN, Wednesday,
A deputation from the Otago Manufacturers' Association to-day discussed with the Prime Minister the cash-011-delivery system. The interview was private.
At a meeting last night Mr. J. Sutherland Ross, president of the association, said that C.O.D. payments had grown' from £4000 to £150,000 in seven vears, and what the amount would be in another seven years be could not imagine. They had been informed that only the International Postal Conference could deal with this matter. As the secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department. Mr. G. McNamara, was now on his way to the conference in London, he certainly thought Sir Joseph Ward should be approached in the matter of instructing Mr. McNamara to cut out the svstem absolutely, as far as New Zealand was concerned.
