DEPARTURE OF MR. BANKS

Mr. E. G. Banks, superintendent oT the Waihi mine, accompanied by Mrs. Banks, left Waihi for Auckland this morning en route to Australia. Mr. Banks, who will go to the East in connection with the Waihi Gold Minim: Company's tin interests in Malay Stated, will be succeeded here by Mr. H. W. Hopkins, who in the former's absenoe abroad has been acting mine superintendent.
Work in the Waihi mine will cease at midnight for the Easter holidays and will be resumed at midnight on Monday next. °
