DASTARDLY ATTACK.
Twenty Men Assault Three Free Workers. TIMBER STRIKE PRACAS. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. A party of 20 men committed a brutal attack upon three volunteer timber workers, two of whom were admitted to hospital. Tlie attackers were drive-i to the scene of tlie assault in a motor lorry.
OPPOSED TO STRIKE.
WORKERS WOULD RESUME. (Received 1J noun.) MKLBOURN I], this day. Practically the whole of the bushmilling industry in Victoria is now at a standstill. Larue numbers of timber workers displayed opposition to a continuance of the strike and but for extremists in the organisation and pickets they would quickly renounce the directions of the union.
